Pillow Care + Support

Your pillow arrived Roost-packed.

That means it was compressed and rolled to protect it during shipping. A few simple steps will help restore its full loft, shape and comfort.

Roost box, rolled compressed pillow, dryer and fully expanded pillow

First-use instructions

Restore your pillow in four simple steps

These general instructions are designed for Roost fiber-filled and dryer-safe foam-and-fiber pillows. Always follow the sewn-in care label for your specific pillow.

1
Remove the rolled pillow from the Roost shipping box

Open carefully

Remove the rolled pillow from the box and outer plastic. Avoid using a sharp blade near the pillow fabric.

2
Compressed pillow rolled into a circular tube

Unroll and fluff

Unroll the pillow, hold opposite corners and shake vigorously. Massage and separate the fill by hand.

3
Place a dryer-safe pillow into a clothes dryer

Refresh if permitted

If the care label allows, tumble on Air Fluff / No Heat for 15–20 minutes. Add two clean dryer balls if desired.

4
Fully expanded pillow ready for use

Allow it to expand

Place the pillow flat and allow up to 24 hours to reach its intended loft and shape.

Important: Do not place a pillow in the dryer unless the sewn-in care label permits it. Solid foam pillows should not be tumble-dried.

Everyday care

Keep it fresh and comfortable

  • Fluff regularly to redistribute the fill.
  • Use a washable pillow protector.
  • Refresh on Air Fluff / No Heat only when permitted.
  • Wash only according to the sewn-in care label.
  • Dry completely before returning the pillow to your bed.

What to expect

Temporary flatness is normal

Roll-packing can temporarily flatten the pillow or create light creasing. Fluffing, airing and allowing time for expansion typically restores the shape.

A mild packaged scent may be noticeable immediately after opening. Allow the pillow to air in a well-ventilated room.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Why does my pillow look flat?

Compression during shipping temporarily reduces loft. Unroll, shake and massage the fill, then allow up to 24 hours for expansion.

What if the fill feels uneven?

Massage dense areas through the fabric and shake the pillow from several directions to redistribute the fill.

Can I place every Roost pillow in the dryer?

No. Only use a dryer when the sewn-in care label permits it. Never tumble-dry a solid foam pillow.

What if the pillow still has not expanded?

Repeat the hand-fluffing process and allow the full expansion period. Contact Roost Support if the pillow still appears defective.

How should I wash my pillow?

Care varies by construction and fill. Follow the sewn-in label on the specific pillow.
